SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE

"Can humans live in a sustainable way?  Our ancestors needed to do it, and future generations will need to as well."  -

GLOBAL WARMING AND LIMITED NATURAL RESOURCES
There are roughly 8 BILLION humans alive today, up from 1 billon at the beginning of the industrial revolution.    In order to maintain the quality of life for all humans and inhabitants of our planet that we strive for today we must change our approach to the built environment.  Achieving carbon neutral building and living, switching to renewable resources, and living in harmony with the environment are key aspects of maintaining future life on Earth.
CARBON NEUTRAL
Limiting the catastrophic effects of Global Warming will require no new carbon dioxide emissions, starting now.  This includes burning fuels, creating building materials, and breathing.  We must handle this task carefully since we all would like to continue breathing.
RENEWABLE ENERGY
What we call "fossil Fuels" was once a living plant that grew millions of years ago from the free energy of the sun until that energy was unlocked and burned.   Free clean energy still arrives on Earth everyday from the sun.  With limited remaining fossil fuels available we need to convert now to wind, solar, and hydro.
BIOPHILIC DESIGN
Biophilic design brings humans and nature closer together.  A deeper connection with the environment will inspire the shift we need to protect the planet and it's inhabitants.  We must find ways to interact more sustainably with nature.
